Meet the Owner!

Lauren Alexandra was born in October 1994, at a time when specialty baby boutiques were all but unheard of. Pamela Dicapo was looking for an outlet where she could blend her love of retail, interior design and people and voilà, Brookside's little bebe' boutique was born. Named after her two daughters, Lauren and Alexandra, the store brought new lines, products and a new level or service to Kansas City's expectant mothers. Soon not only were moms to be flocking to the store for the adorable clothes, but for Pam's design skills..she was able to turn the most blah room into a magical nursery. 

Local success soon followed with attention from national magazines, such as Romantic Homes and Country Living, and Pamela quickly became known around the country as the guru in the baby business. “Features in Romantic Homes and other national publications really put us on the map” says Pamela. I think my friendly, fun loving Midwestern personality helped.
I absolutely love what I do!! I have made the best of friends in my business; from vendors, to other store owners, reps, employees, and of course my loyal customers. I have also been blessed to make this business a family affair, with the support of my two wonderful daughters, and especially my husband, Jack.
The first 15 years of business have been a blast, and I am looking forward to the next phase of Lauren Alexandra, and bringing our store and service to everyone on the internet!
